NO (MORE) DISASTERS WILL BE PERMITTED THIS WEEK


Any crisis (or crises) you may incur this week will be at your own peril, as I will be traveling to Vancouver (first time!) and I cannot be assured regular connectivity.

This also means I'll really be on Pacific Time, so please don't call me before noon eastern... or at all if you don't need to - Unless you're from Sun Microsystems offering me servers at half-price.

I depart Wednesday (27 hour day!) morning, and return Sunday (21 hour day!) evening. I'll be staying downtown at the Listel Hotel.

Haven't solidified my plans yet, but as I'm traveling with devnull and SarahBlam!, I'm sure we'll be well entertained. I do know that on Friday night we're planning a UFieMeet, for fans and friends of the UserFriendly.org webcomic; and then on Saturday evening I'm invited to Andre & Tanya's wedding.

Is this vacation? buisness? both? Ask me when I get back ;-)

The Last of Vancouver - Day 5
Despite being an "Easterner", I quickly adapted to PDT, so waking up at 8AM (11AM Eastern) was somewhat brutal - but then again, anyone who knows me I don't like waking up anyway In the words of J.D., who met us at the airport and bought me a chai, "Man Comment (1)

Dave the WestJetter here (both a WestJet employee, and an owner too!). I do hope you have a good flight with WestJet, and that you enjoy the jokes ;^). But, if the jokes don't work for you, I hope you are on one of our plnaes with LiveTV by Bell ExpressVU. By the way, if you are on one of our planes without the LiveTV, that means that you are on one of our newest planes (still getting LiveTV on the remaining few without it, and with the new ones that we are still getting in our growing fleet). In any event, your Boeing 737NG plane will definitely have more legroom (compared to most economy class service) and leather seats. It will be one of the most fuel efficient planes in the sky (because they are).

By the way, please do me a favour when in Vancouver ... buy yourself a coffee and wander along one of the beaches at sunset. As a former Vancouverite, that's one thing I really miss.

OK, was it just a coincidence that WestJet appears at the top of the Granville trolley wires photo on Sunday, July 15. 2007 above, or was it a paid product placement? The power of advertising!

How was the flight? Did it deliver everything WestJet promised you, including the jokes?

In cool Ottawa, we hear there is quite the heat wave in BC and the beaches are busy.
