Surprisingly easy too. My father, who in theory, is on the same contract & plan as I am, was told to do all sorts of silly things to get an iPhone, and he's looking at $480 for an 8GB unit, given his account.

I, on the other hand, have a plan that's $18/mo... because it's less than $30/mo - there's a surcharge on the purchase-price of the iPhone 16GB (Black) for me.

Are you ready for this?

Instead of paying $299+txs, I have to $324+txs.

Right.

On a 3 year contract, because I'm $12 below the "standard offers", I have to pay an extra $0.75/mo.

Makes no sense to me, but at least I can handle that.

It should arrive within 3-5 biz days... hopefully before I leave for Calgary!!!

I love "my" iphone (the one I stole from Martin). It is the older version but I think it is more than what I need. Plus it was really cool to be one of the VERY FEW that had one in Holland - of course it was also released last week in NL too, so now I am one of the many....

You're really not missing out on much anyway, slightly better speeds on network traffic... and GPS. Otherwise, what's the point of upgrading?

Greetings from Atlanta. The iPhones seem to be backlogged here too. There as no sign of them arriving from Rogers either last week.

18/month? what plan are you on?! If that's all your charges it's pretty sweet.

And yeah, I have both, not much difference really, especially when you don't have data at all. It just made it a cheap iPod for the wife.

Some weird government/corporate plan. 200 minutes/mo, vmail, call display. Add $5 for E&W at 6PM.

Now that I've got $30 data, it's good value. Rogers isn't raping me now :-)
