Wow, that's great news. Hope everything goes well!! It'll be strange seeing you without the wrist/x-men thingy.

Wishing you all the luck for a quick recovery after this long haul!

It's sobering to think about how many people have only known me since I broke my wrist and it's a defining characteristic... and yet in the past couple days, I've started pondering what life would be like without being "that guy with that thing on his hand" and being able to actually open jars and pick things up again...
No matter what, the next couple months are going to be tough - but interesting.

Good luck Mike! Hope you'll be able to open lots of jars for the next 30+ years ![]()

Hurray! Good luck!
A volumetric display is just what it sounds like - a 3D image made from compiling all the 2D image slices. Very useful for surgeons. Is that one a volumetric MRI showing the ligaments? Kinda looks like blood vessels too but I'm not sure.

I hate taking drugs, but I'm probably not going to love the pain either...

Sounds rough but hopefully it will get better soon. Good luck with the surgery.

Hi,
I came across your blog when doing some research for my own ligament plication surgery which, strangely enough, is taking place on the 23rd of January also. It's comforting to know that I'm not the only person who has put up with pain for a long time before anything is being done for it!! I've just passed the one year mark so I really feel for you!!! Good luck with your surgery and I hope it all works out for you ![]()
