I vaguely remember using 'da' instead of 'ad' for SCSI devices though, but since the manpages are completely opaque, it's difficult to know if it'd work. I guess UTSL is the answer, however I'm a sysadmin, not a programmer...
I will be testing this part eventually though.

Looks very nice.

It took me a little while to figure out what the trickery with boot.config was supposed to accomplish. A comment explaining that it makes the system boot from the second drive would probably be a good idea.

I actually think it works equally well with both ATA and SCSI drives as long as the second drive is also the second drive from the BIOS point of view.

As stated in the mysteriously almost imvisible text, this is what happens on a Sunday afternoon where I have a bunch of photos I want to share and there's not much cohesiveness - so I made up a story instead...
